Predators crash out of semi final against Alcombe Rovers
Date
Saturday, January 30, 2010
The big game against Alcombe Rovers was played and to our disappointment we crashed out of the semi final and lost 3-2 at home, which is maybe our 6th semi final we lost since the club has been going. Predators do not seem to get the luck in the cups and have been knocked out by late goals in 3 different cups this season. When we played Bridgwater Sports in the knock out cup round 2, we conceded a late goal with 4 minutes to go to make Sports 4-3 winners. Another situation in the cup was getting knocked out by Barwick & Stowford in the intermediate cup round 2 with a late goal that was definitely a handball to take it around our keeper. This seemed to be a little pattern developing that is causing the manager concern on Predators performing well in the major cups and not finishing sides off. The cause of the latest cup defeat has to be put down to not playing for a month and half due to the bad weather. This seemed almost certain that we would be rusted and it proved that in the last 10 minutes of this semi final. All the club can do now is move on to the league and hopefully gain promotion to the first division next year. Our next 3 games are at home, which could help us gain some momentum in the league campaign to get us back to winning ways.
