Predators hit top form at a crucial time
Date
Wednesday, March 31, 2010
Over the last one and a half months we have played some hard games that have really tested the strength and depth of our side. These games include a 6-2 win at home to White Hart Rangers, 2-0 win at home against Hulan, 2-1 away win against Wembdon and a 7-0 win at home to Staplegrove Reserves. Our only defeat was at home against Sydenham Rangers where we lost 2-0. This means that we have taken 12 points from a possible 15 to put us in a good position at the top of the league and 2 points clear of Bridgwater Sports Reserves. The good run of form has come at a cost and we have lost 2 players due to injury. The first player is Nigel Cornell, who got elbowed in the face against Sydenham Rangers and had to be taken away in an ambulance for precaution for a head injury. Nigel should be back very soon. The second player that is out because of a hamstring injury is the old veteran Justin Lewis he pulled up in the first half when we were playing against Wembdon. We hope Justin is also back for our next game. The run in for the remaining games of the season will be a very tough test. We have to play Bridgwater Sports Reserves twice, who have played the same amount of games and currently stand 2nd in that table 2 points behind us. Another big game is undefeated Bishops Lydeard, they have 5 games in hand on us and could go 2 points clear at the top of the table. We have to also play Bishops Lydeard twice. With these four games to play we know it will be a massive task to take all 12 points. Also we have other hard games to play, which are mostly away games. The division 2 title is by no means over and could go to any of the sides mentioned above. The manager has faith in the current squad and thinks we can win every game if we stay focused. We are in a strong position to win the league and going by our current form we will take some stopping. All supporters need to get behind us for the remaining games.
