This week’s game was going to be an extremely hard game against Bridgwater Sports Reserves, we all knew that we needed to get a good result to defiantly come runners up of the division two this year. Our previous encounter was at home where we beat them 5-1, this was going to be hard if we wanted to beat them 5-1 again, the twist was we were away to them this time around. As the game kicked off we were playing Brilliant and passing the ball along the ground. This is the way it’s meant to be played when you’re playing with a Predators shirt on. With 8 minutes in to the game a free kick had appeared in our own half and new boy Adam Evans took it, it floated into the box and it got headed down by one of their players. It dropped down to Justin Lewis, and an unusual event happened as he blasted it wide but should of been an easy goal to make it 1-0, apart from it stayed at 0-0. In the 23rd minute Sports whipped in a deep cross to the far post, which ended up being a nightmare to defend, because of the sun. Our keeper Lloyd Hackling could not see it neither could our defender Gary Head and the ball hit a Sports player on the head, with a bit of luck and ended up in the back of the net to give Sports a 1-0 advantage. This was not good for us and if the score stayed the same could make getting the runners up spot more difficult than at expected. Yet again with a good bit of skill and looking like his old self Mathew Washer went on a run to beat 3 players to drive a low cross to Adam Kinsey who slotted it into the net to make it 1-1 just before half time. The start of the second half started like the end of the first half we were the better side creating a few chances to go in front, but did not take them. Now the game was looking more towards a draw, with 70 minutes played until Matt Kinsey managed to get himself into a good position in front of goal to blast the ball into the roof off net from a low cross by Ryan Weston. The scores stayed the same and we went away with all 3 points and almost 100% guaranteed runners up spot.
